Hamilton County Prosecutor alerted
We've learned paperwork has been filed with the Hamilton County Prosecutor regarding the alleged illegal use of more than $12,393.00 of taxpayer money to fund last years school levy antics. The bulk of the claim revolves around Superintendent Glatfelter hiring lawyers to assist in the outcome of the levy, which is a violation of Ohio law. This is the same Glatfelter that has in the past directed school employees to distribute campaign levy signs using Colerain Middle school, which is also a violation of Ohio law. Glatfelter probably had the help of then assistant principal Paulette Crowley who is also listed in the newest complaint. In past years Glatfelter had levy signs delivered directly to his secluded Jonrose Rd office. We always wondered how the pro-levy supporters gained access to NW district tax exempt numbers used to illegally purchase levy materials as evidenced by many campaign finance records. It now appears Glatfelter has been the mastermind behind spending whatever taxpayer money and using NW staff to accomplish his goal of passing a levy for the sole purpose of filling their pockets with raises and benefits before they retire. The board is considering a plan to let Glatfelter retire and then rehire him, also called "double-dipping". Ohio State Rep Michelle Schneider has introduced a bill to stop this practice which robs taxpayers of having qualified candidates seek employment when boards recycle the same old junk. Just what has Glatfelter accomplished since he was selected as superintendent by default,
Reader feedback: "I always watch the board video's and never remember this being discussed in public. This also doesn't qualify for executive session because it would be a matter the district couldn't be involved in, which brings the question, which board members knew and approved this? Whomever is involved should have to repay the district from their own pocket ! Why can't the State Auditor rule this must be recovered?"

Treasurer Mess
The board is currently searching for a new treasurer. Given the facts of the mess listed above with Glatfelter spending antics, this beggs the question why did the current treasurer paid the invoice?? Either Larry McDoungh didn't pay any attention to what the invoice was for, or he was instructed to ignore Ohio law and pay the lawyer bills anyway. Why wasn't the board told about the invoice ? Regardless, in our minds this is cause for dismissal. After all, McDonough was awarded "treasurer of the year" by a bogus Ohio lobbyist group. This is especially disturbing in light of the most recent Ohio Auditors audit where we learned former treasurer Randy Seymour has failed to file over five years for Federal paperwork, even after repeated notification. The treasurer is supposed to be the watchdog of taxpayer funds, but in the case of Northwest Schools, this job is left to insiders with no regard for following the law.

The Ohio Elections Commission has ruled on a case involving last years Northwest School district levy.
